Archer, I have followed your Mom since you were 2. You have a way with words that reminds me of your Mom, but are wholly your own. And of course, they touch my heart, especially since my daughter is a year behind you and my hope for her is to find friends that become family.
Wow, this is honestly the best compliment on my writing that I could receive, I really appreciate it! I'm sure that your daughter will find these people for her too, there is so much love and opportunity in a place that's right for you :)
I had to check twice to make sure Lisa’s comment wasn’t something I had written, it rings true for me, too…
Strange thing about sharing your stories so soulfully is that perfect strangers feel connected, a family by our (the readers’) choosing, and out of mad respect, I fear being intrusive by commenting so effusively. Your mom’s stories earned a home in my heart that continues to expand as you add yours. What a privilege to grow from your wisdom. Welcome home from home, I suspect wherever you are, Home Will Be.
I am so glad that you feel this connected in this way, and I'm so honored to have found such a supportive community on here, not only for the writing, but also for each other. I encourage you to say whatever you like if you are comfortable, its been so amazing reading these comments and having people share their stories. And thank you for the welcome, its good to be back!
Thank you for sharing, Archer-- this is an intense time for most all human beans [sic]. The summer between freshman and sophomore years was my roughest time, ever--- and luckily I was able to check in with my new, university friends during that struggle.
I agree with you, and I'm sorry that time was hard for you. It's so helpful to have friends to support you, and I'm glad that you were able to get that love from them. I appreciate you so much for sharing your experience :)
